BRAVIA EX Series Description

Sony's EX Series the company's mainstream lineup of HDTVs. You should be able to find models that fit a larger consumer demographic here. The feature set found on BRAVIA EX Series TVs are generally better than those found in the entry-level BX Series but are not up to par with those found in the high-end HX Series.

You'll find display sizes in the BRAVIA EX Series to be on the larger end, similar to what you'll find the HX Series. These include displays in the classes of 40, 46 and 55. If you're looking for a Sony HDTV that's smaller, check out the BX Series.

If you're deciding whether to go with either the HX Series or the EX Series, consider these important differences. In general, HDTV models in the EX Series are more affordable. BRAVIA EX Series TVs lack 3D viewing support and do not have Wi-Fi capability built-in. If you want to be able to connect online, you'll have to use a separate adapter.

Sony's EX Series utilizes Edge LED Backlighting, which isn't as advanced as Dynamic Edge LED Backlighting found on HX Series HDTVs.

BRAVIA EX Series models also lack the X-Reality picture engine. Thus picture quality will not be as good as what is found on HX Series HDTV models.
