Model VPCEC3DFX/BJ belongs to a family of Vaio notebooks called the EC Series. These are consumer laptops that utilize 17.3 inch widescreen displays. They are great for work or for multimedia usage because they provide abundant workspace and viewing space.

Sony VPCEC3DFX/BJ is a mid-level performance laptop. It is powered by an Intel Core i5-460M (2.53GHz) processor. It also uses a discrete graphics solution.

Vaio VPCEC3DFX/BJ is sold exclusively by select retailers. It differs from the prebuilt Vaio EC systems in a couple of notable ways. These two differences include the configurations for hard drive and for the graphics. VPCEC3DFX/BJ uses a standard 5400 rpm HDD that is 500GB in size. This is opposed to the systems found on Sony's website that run at 7200 rpms and are 500GB in size. Model VPCEC3DFX/BJ also uses a more basic discrete graphics controller. It only has 512MB of VRAM as opposed to 1GB VRAM found in typical Vaio EC Series systems.

These primary differences provide consumers with significant price savings. Vaio VPCEC3DFX/BJ is a great computing solution for those that are more budget oriented.
