Sony's Vaio W Series has been discontinued. It has been replaced by the Vaio Y Series, which features 11.6 inch displays and is as equally lightweight and small in form factor as the Vaio W Series.

Sony's Vaio W Series is a family of mini notebooks. These are casual computing solutions designed to be mobile and to have good battery life. Vaio W Series netbooks are ideal for Web browsing, emailing, instant messaging and light productivity work. They are also good for sharing multimedia files such as pictures and movies.

All Vaio W Series netbooks come as prebuilt systems. There are no customizable models. The W Series does have a special Billabong netbook model. This system has a special Billabong color design. Vaio W Series mini laptops also come in white, blue, and pink color designs.
